Mr. Casimir Emmanuel Agene – The Managing Consultant, Gene Financial Advisory Services Limited has worked  as Consulting Attaché’ to AFC Consultants International GmbH of Germany, the representative of GTZ, in 2010 under the Employment-oriented Private Sector Development Programme (EoPSD) which  provides capacity building, Training, research and impact assessment to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME)  microfinance banks in Nigeria. He had a total of 31 years banking experience including 20 years experience at the Central Bank of Nigeria as supervisor/regulator of the financial services industry. Mr. Agene served in different capacities from 1970 to 2002, retiring on the grade of Group Head/Deputy Director in Banking Supervision Department. He served as Coordinator/Principal Instructor in the CBN Bank Examiners’ Training School from 1987 to 2001 and doubled as Chairman, CBN/NDIC Technical Committee on Supervision and Secretary, CBN/NDIC Executive Committee on Supervision from August 1999 to February 2002 when he retired from the services of the CBN.  He became Council Member/Chairman, Abuja Branch of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria from May 9, 2002 to May 2004. Previously Mr. Agene doubled as Editor, Bullion/CenBank News (1978-1984) and Member, Publications Committee and Editorial Board, the Nigerian Banker  publication of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (1984-87). He has authored three books in banking namely, Foreign Exchange and International Trade (1991) Principles of Modern Banking (1995) and Microfinance Banking Principles & Practice (2011, which are all on the reading list of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria for professional banking examinations. His fourth book, Foreign Exchange Trading for Authorised Dealers is in the press. Sir Agene is a knight of the Noble and Ancient Order of the Knights of St. John International (KSJI), Commandery 678, Karu where he served as Correspondent/Recording Secretary from January 2014 to January 2016 and currently holds the office of Cadet Organizer of the Commandery.
